Station operation

The multipurpose station simplifies staff workflows by streamlining resource sharing, whether patrons are checking out or returning items. To complete the process, staff simply scan items at the station to confirm their status. The station system verifies the transaction, providing real-time feedback with audio cues and LED indicators. Fully integrated with the Meescan cloud and your ILS, the multipurpose station ensures that only eligible items are processed, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Barcode scanning

Each multipurpose station is equipped with a barcode scanner compatible with various symbologies. The scanner is fixed to the station but can also be used as a handheld device, providing flexibility for scanning items regardless of their size or orientation.

Installation

Meescan multipurpose stations are delivered as "plug and play," requiring no on-site technicians for setup. Simply plug the station into a power outlet and connect it to your library’s WiFi or Ethernet network. Thanks to the cloud connection, stations operate wirelessly, without needing a direct connection to your ILS, kiosks, or patrons’ devices.

Placement

Meescan multipurpose stations are designed with staff convenience in mind, featuring a compact, space-saving design that fits easily on any desk or counter. Wireless connectivity allows flexible placement anywhere in the library, such as near staff workstations or building exits, to efficiently confirm checkouts or process returns. Libraries can deploy as many stations as needed, ensuring seamless support for staff operations.

Warranty

Warranty for your multipurpose station is included with your annual Meescan license, which means there are no extra maintenance fees. We troubleshoot issues remotely so you never have to worry about on-site visits from a technician. If we can’t solve a station issue remotely, we’ll simply send you a new station and have you send the defective station back to us, free of charge.
