Reflecting on 2024 and looking ahead to 2025: a year of growth, innovation, and connection

Meescan moments: fun, wellness, and team adventures in 2024!

As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect moment for the Meescan team to reflect on the journey we’ve had as a team and the milestones we’ve achieved. 2024 was filled with exciting growth, meaningful collaborations, and an unwavering commitment to bringing innovation to libraries across the world. From expanding our team to forming lasting relationships with libraries, we’ve experienced incredible moments that have shaped who we are today. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re even more excited about the future. With new goals and a passion for progress, we’re ready to take on the new year and continue transforming the library experience.

 

 

2024 highlights: a year of progress and connection

In 2024, a few members of the Meescan team—Robyn, Michael, Amar, Andrea, Rachel, and Peter—had the exciting opportunity to attend nine prominent conferences across North America, including the West Coast, the Midwest, and even up to Alaska. These events offered much more than a chance to showcase Meescan’s services; they were opportunities to reconnect with our longtime colleagues, forge new partnerships, and engage with library professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. We also had the honour of sponsoring three additional conferences, solidifying our commitment to the library community.

 

A major highlight was celebrating six successful years of exhibiting at ELUNA, where we’ve built lasting partnerships with library professionals. We also made waves with our first-ever ad in Hawaii’s HLA magazine—a memorable moment in a year full of firsts!

 

We welcomed new team members—Valentina (Content & Design Specialist), Sanya (Sales and Marketing Co-op), Jasper (Product Support Specialist), and Samuel (Platform Specialist)—each bringing fresh ideas and perspectives that have strengthened our team dynamic.

 

2024 wasn’t just about professional milestones; it was about growth and fun. From our annual kayaking adventure to friendly bowling and curling competitions, the Meescan team embraced fun and wellness together. Our Halloween festivities included a creative pumpkin carving and some spirited darts, adding to the camaraderie that defines our team culture. At the end of the year, we celebrated with a holiday party full of festive cheer. We exchanged gifts, decorated ornaments, and shared a potluck with delicious food from everyone. These moments brought us closer as a team and made the year even more special. 

 

 

Expanding our impact: new libraries and stronger connections

One of the most exciting highlights of 2024 was the adoption of Meescan self-checkout kiosks by numerous new libraries. Many libraries embraced our self-checkout technology to elevate their services and streamline operations. What made these partnerships particularly exciting were the unique workflows many libraries brought to their self-checkout. From personalized interfaces to custom branding and design elements, many libraries tailored their kiosks to reflect their identity and meet the specific needs of their patrons. These new additions to the Meescan family not only represent our growth but also highlight the increasing embrace of technology in libraries focused on enhancing convenience, efficiency, and the overall user experience. 

 

 

Looking ahead: Meescan’s goals for 2025

 

As we move into 2025, our team is focused on expanding our reach, developing new features, and strengthening our customer relationships. We have set ambitious goals to continue evolving as a company and as a team, with a focus on innovation, community-building, and personal growth. Here’s what each team member has planned for the year ahead:

 

  • Amar: Drive expansion by entering new markets and securing new partnerships to grow our customer base.
 
  • Meagan: Become an Excel expert to enhance our data management and reporting capabilities for better decision-making.
 
  • Valentina: Create engaging content and design solutions that help libraries build deeper connections with patrons and share knowledge in more creative ways.
 
  • Eamonn: Launch a new app that enhances the library experience and empowers both library staff and patrons.
 
  • Samuel: Become a 10x developer by improving platform performance, scalability, and speed.
 
  • Sanya: Connect with more libraries and learn to design engaging content that strengthens relationships.
 
  • Michael: Expand implementation capabilities to drive growth and enhance customer service.
 
  • Robyn: Strengthen our relationships with Canadian libraries, ensuring more libraries benefit from Meescan’s self-checkout technology.
 
  • Rachel: Foster long-term relationships with our customers, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and success with our products.

With a strong focus on expanding our team’s expertise, refining our offerings, and helping libraries thrive, we’re excited for what lies ahead.
